Advisory Board Member

Socorro Garcia, is the Office Manager for the National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors in Chicago, Illinois. She manages the office’s staff, assists with the organization’s day to day functions, plans and executes conferences/expos throughout the United States.

Socorro previously worked as a Program Director of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce. Socorro was in charge of the City of Chicago Department of Community Development grant. She consults with clients on business formation, financial assistance, and contract procurement. She also planned and executed seminars and fundraising events.

Socorro is a graduate of the Mujeres de HACE Leadership Program Fall 2010 class. She also participated in the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Leadership academy for three years.

In her spare time she is involved with other organizations which include the American Diabetes Association Walk for a Cure and Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority, Inc. She has served on the National Board of Directors for 4 years currently as the Program Director.

Ms. Garcia received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with a minor is Spanish from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She is fluent in both Spanish and English.
