Andrea Sáenz

Andrea Sáenz is a previous Executive Director of the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE). Under Andrea's leadership, HACE has strengthened its work connecting Latinos with professional roles and launched three ambitious projects focused on leadership development, one for experienced professionals, another designed to support women to balance ambitious career goals with healthy family lives, and an initiative connecting students to mentorship and college opportunities. She joined HACE in 2006 as Managing Director and was named Executive Director in 2007.
Before joining HACE, Andrea was a fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Fels Government Research Service where she coordinated data-driven performance management initiatives for the School District of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Workforce Development Corporation. Andrea began her career in non-profit leadership at Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Pennsylvania's largest provider of bilingual/bicultural human services, where she became Vice President for Workforce Development. During her time at Congreso, Andrea led a citywide, multi-agency initiative to open the first bilingual One-Stop Career Center in Pennsylvania focused on connecting Latino job seekers with career-focused training and employment opportunities.
Born in Ecuador and raised in Los Angeles, Andrea has served on numerous community committees and non-profit boards, recently in the role of Treasurer for the Empowerment Group, a micro-business entrepreneurship project in Philadelphia. She was recently appointed to the Cook County Commission on Human Rights. She also serves on the board of the Community Renewal Society, the Blair Thomas Theater Company, National-Louis University's Proyecto Comunidad Advisory Board, and the Association Forum of Chicagoland CEO Advisory Board. She was part of the Leadership Greater Chicago Class of 2009 and has been recognized with the John K. Parker Award for Outstanding Commitment to Community Service and the Audrey Miller Poritzky Award for Excellence in Leadership, both awarded by the University of Pennsylvania.
Andrea holds a Masters degree in Government Administration from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She graduated from Scripps College in Claremont, California with a BA in Latin American Studies.
