Patricia Mota is the Director of Membership Outreach for HACE, focusing on women’s leadership and post-secondary outreach, where she works on growing and strengthening HACE’s national networks through the delivery of skill development and networking building programs for students and professionals. Patricia strives to engage experienced professionals as mentors and advisors to create a multi-generational network to support Latinos’ career growth around the country.

Before joining the HACE team, Patricia was the Assistant Director of Admissions and the Hispanic/Latino Outreach Coordinator at Ivy Tech Community College of Central Indiana. Aside from being heavily involved with this position, she was also engaged with the community and her academic career, pursuing an MPA. Additionally, she also taught Spanish courses and was involved in several committees within the college. She chaired a sub-committee of the Diversity Team and advised the Student Organization of Latinos (SOL) at the college. While in Indianapolis, she served on the board for the Indiana State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (ISHCC) as the board’s secretary. She chaired the Volunteer/VIP Committee for the Indianapolis Women of Color Conference 2009 and participated in the planning of annual programs and events for Indiana Latino students, such as those hosted by NSHMBA’s Project Stepping Stone, META (Mapping Education towards Achievement), and ALCANCE. Patricia teaches dance lessons and led hip-hop and cardio salsa dance sessions at the local YMCA in Indianapolis.

Patricia Mota earned a double Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University-Bloomington in Spanish and Communication & Culture and a Master’s in Public Affairs (MPA) in Public Management from Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis. As an undergraduate, she studied abroad in Spain and Portugal developing a greater aptitude of intercultural interaction and language. Aside from being a successful active student at IU, she founded and led two organizations, Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc., Alpha Eta Chapter and IU’s Latin Dance Club, both successful and thriving organizations today. Today, Patricia is the Midwest Regional Director for the sorority. She also co-founded a community center in Bloomington, Indiana, El Centro Comunal, which offers services for Spanish-speaking community members. She worked on several other community projects through her service in AmeriCorps as a Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) and as an Advocate for Community Engagement (ACE).
