Senior Quality Leader with Kraft Foods

Myrka Rivera is a Senior Quality Leader with Kraft Foods, the world’s second largest food company.  She has responsibility to ensure products meet design and food safety requirements acting as Quality primary resource from product design through product manufacture. Myrka has 10 years of successful career experience with Kraft Foods as a Research and Development professional.

Throughout her career advancement at Kraft Foods she has held leadership positions in new product development from concept to implementation, and cost effectiveness in product formulation and processing. She has built strong business savvy leading cross-functional teams and diversifying/enriching her career with experiences as Group Leader within R&D, Continuous improvement assignment in Operations/Manufacturing and an international short-term assignment in Mexico City which allowed her to develop her ability to work in an international/diverse business model setting.

Myrka has a compelling way to recruit, to develop and to mentor talent. Myrka is recognized as a manager of product development and technology who consistently delivers results by taking a strategic approach to growing business, leading an empowered work team and motivating others to work at their highest potential. She currently leads the University recruiting efforts for Kraft in her alma mater. She has advocated organizational development at Kraft Foods and founded an on-boarding program for new employees, which was adopted across sites in the global network. Myrka is also a true champion of Diversity and delivered stunning results against Kraft’s diversity strategy as Chair of the Kraft Foods Latino Council in 2006-2008.

Myrka has grown professionally leveraging her personal desire of self-development accented with her passion to develop others and to contribute back to our communities. HACE has influenced and has shaped Myrka’s leadership skills as participant of the founding cohort of Mujeres de HACE and completing the HACE Leadership Advancement series. She is also an Alumni Ambassor for AGUILA; a leadership program created to inspire and empower Latino professionals with culturally relevant leadership skills, which can be used within their own organizations and their greater communities. Myrka holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from University of Puerto Rico – Mayaguez Campus.
