Risk More to Become More
What are you willing to risk, give up or change about yourself in the achievement of your goals? To effectively attain your dreams tomorrow, you must do what others will not do today.
You must resolve to become the person others will not become. In the pursuit of living the life you always wanted, you must vow to elevate your skills at any risk. To progress, you must be willing to evolve who you are today with the unshakable belief that this transformation will make you the success you aim to be. If you stay stagnant today, you will never be the person you aspire to be tomorrow.
No risk, no reward. In my life I have been homeless many times. I slept many times in freezing nights in a very small car in the middle of winter, and countless hot/humid nights in that same small car during the summer. I used gyms to clean up for job interviews, and bookstore’s Wi-Fi internet to apply for jobs. I moved with no job, no friends, and no money several times in my life. I decided that in order to reach my true potential in this world I would need to challenge myself more than anyone around me was willing to do onto themselves. It was a true struggle for growth, from which I am stronger and more motivated from. I imbedded the philosophy in my mind that ‘I have nothing to loose and the world to gain’. I think about this phrase in the good and bad times I have been blessed with. It keeps me fearless. I was, and still am, willing to go bankrupt to become the best person I can be in this world. I will risk everything again and again in my pursuit to gain any skills I need to reach my ultimate potential. How else would you live your life if you knew your days were numbered?
As I write this on September 11th, I can think of no greater way to give back towards the future of the United States of America than to invest heavily in your self-improvement. The reshaping of our nation and the economy starts with you. Resolve to evolve yourself into a fearless world-class professional, and America will follow your lead.
Fearless qualities in Americans have strong ties to the birth of our nation. We have the ability to rekindle the American “pioneer spirit” in ourselves by displaying the same fearless character that gave our ancestors the strength to settle the west. Our American ancestors risked life and death for a better life. Their courageous resolve for charting the unknown is legendary. You must be different than those around you. Strive for a better life like the pioneer Americans before us. Become the difference and vow right now to put your heart and soul into challenging yourself to be the best you can; for you, your family, and America. In this time of great challenge for our Nation, you are what will determine the future.
We are blessed to be living at this point in our nation’s history. The economic downturn blesses us with the ability to push our very own “reset button” and rethink what we truly want to pursue in this world. We have the ability to challenge ourselves by using this “downtime” as a period for rebirth to take full advantage of pending economic growth to come in the future. We all know the economy will eventually bounce back, where are you going to be when it does? We can build skills today that will be in demand when the economy picks up! How lucky we are! Ask yourself today: what will you give up, change, or risk to have a better life? What types of situations are you willing to endure for growth? This is how you will effectively prepare for the turn around- no one will give it to you but yourself.
The time for you to act is now. Who do you want to be? What will you commit excellence towards to be the best? What are you going to up, change, and risk in making it happen?
Use these steps as a guide:
- Find Motivation- What pushes you to excel in life? Make it our cornerstone
- Decide what you want- Make are revise your list often
- Assess yourself honestly- See who you are today to measure your progress
- Make a plan for change- keep the methods flexible but the goal concrete
- Resolve to risk, develop a fearless attitude
- Persist and evolve to the situation
To be more, you must risk more. The American spirit is resilient.
