Empowering High-Potential Latinas
Purpose
The program is designed to empower high-potential Latinas to succeed professionally and thrive personally by providing insight, access and professional development.
Overview
Mujeres de HACE is a professional development program designed to empower high potential Latinas to thrive personally and succeed professionally by providing insight, access and professional development. Particularly, the program includes 1) strategizing an action plan, which provides executive one-on-one coaching for the participants, assisting in the development of their five-year plan to achieve professional and personal goals, 2) mastering the multiple roles that Latina professionals face, which addresses various cultural components, achieving optimal work-life balance and personal branding, and 3) building a strong network of supportive and mentoring relationships. All of these components assist in empowering and motivating our participants towards greater confidence and achievements in their professional careers. The program launched in 2009 and today, there are over 100 alumni.
Structure
- Orientation/Kick-Off Session, six training sessions in the evening, and a graduation
- Offered twice every year, once in the fall and once in the spring
Training Sessions
Mujeres de HACE Kick-Off & Orientation is geared to motivate and excite the participants. Women will become acquainted with one another and gain an understanding of how to best meet their goals with the program.
Session I – Discovering Leadership Style & Strategic Planning assists the participants to assess and examine personal beliefs, cultural traits, and leadership styles and behaviors to increase self-awareness and reduce blind spots for personal and professional effectiveness. Participants gain the tools to take steps towards action and execution.
Session II – Developing Your Personal Brand guides participants towards gaining a competitive advantage by differentiating themselves based off their strengths. Participants will gain an understanding of the foundations of branding, nature of perceptions, how to manage perceptions, and how to communicate a clear and consistent brand message.
Session III – Building Effective Partnerships & Networks provides the tools and resources for participants to establish effective relationships and networks, both in their careers and personal lives. Participants are introduced tools and resources to expand networking capabilities and develop mentoring strategies.
Session IV – Utilizing Financial Planning Tips & Tools provides a comprehensive approach that starts with helping define financial dreams, develop a plan, and learn how to track progress along the way. The session addresses the most common mistakes Latinas make when handling personal finances.
Session V – Achieving Optimal Work - Life Balance aims towards creating a complete understanding of the constraints Latina professionals face when trying to achieve this balance. Participants are provided with the steps and resources for achieving optimal work-life balance.
Session VI – Delivery & Execution succinctly wraps up and incorporates each of the Mujeres de HACE program elements into your personal and professional strategic plan. Participants present a plan for both short term and long-term career success while making recommendations on strategies that will deliver bottom-line results
Graduation celebrates the success of the participants. All stakeholders, sponsors and participants are recognized and the Mujeres de HACE graduates are awarded for their achievements.
Qualifications
Ø Must have earned a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Ø Must have proven leadership skills and abilities
Ø Must have defined career goals
Ø Must be working at the manager, director or VP level
Ø Must pay the program cost of $800
Ø Must submit complete application by deadline of April 4, 2011, 8:00 a.m. CST.
Cost
The fee covers workshops, fees, materials and food. The $800 is due by April 4, 8:00 a.m. CST. Credit cards and company PO’s are accepted. If needed, please ask about possible tuition assistance and payment options.
When
The program consists of an orientation and six training sessions, on the following dates, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The program begins with an orientation/informational session on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
