Cesar Madrigal

Thanks to a scholarship from HACE, I was able to attend the Cornell University Summer Program later that year. I received straight A's in the Cornell Architecture program and I am now in New York pursuing my dream of becoming an architect.
I have learned that Latinos do have the opportunity to go to college. No matter how many people put us Latinos down, there is education available beyond high school. There are plenty of scholarships and grants available to Latino students; the catch is that every Latino needs to have the seed inside them that strives for a better education. Every Latino needs to have the determination and perseverance to continue with his or her education.
And that's exactly what HACE does - helps plant the seed inside by motivating Latinos with their Access College program and internship opportunities. I could have never gotten to where I am without HACE's help.
Cesar is currently a Resident Assistant at Rensselaer and will graduate in 2012.
