Olga Camargo

A former HACE scholar, today Olga Camargo is Managing Director and Partner at Toroso Investments, a SEC-registered investment advisory firm headquartered in New York, NY. Toroso Investments is committed to providing its clients with strategies that allow them to express their economic point of view, consistent with their risk tolerance and time horizon, through core asset allocation and income strategies that are intended to perform well in all economic climates. Olga provides investment advisory and retirement plan advisory services to clients, which include high net worth individuals, business owners, public and private corporations, public sector entities, not-for-profit entities and foundations. She has expertise in guiding plan sponsors with a Latino/Hispanic Spanish-speaking workforce. Olga is frequently called upon by some of the fastest growing businesses and policymakers to provide her unique perspective.
Olga has 15 years of financial service industry experience. Prior to joining Toroso Investments, she was a Senior Vice President with Mesirow Financial co-leading an investment advisory practice with Juan Carlos Avila specializing in culturally-relevant financial services to the Latino market. Prior to Mesirow Financial, Olga formed part of JPMorgan Chase’s Corporate Economics Group after serving on Thomson Reuters’ News and Editorial team.
Olga was appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to the Chicago Plan Commission, and to the Chicago Cook Workforce Investment Board where she serves as Treasurer. In 2011, she earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (or AIF®) professional designation from Fiduciary360, which provides formal training in investment fiduciary responsibility.
Olga got involved with HACE during her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. "HACE enabled me to achieve my educational goals through a scholarship award," said Camargo. "Today, I look to HACE to further build my professional network in order to realize more business opportunities."
She said HACE's role in supporting Latino professionals and college students through its leadership development program and corporate partnerships is crucial as it helps cultivate a workforce for the 21st century economy.
