Sergio Trujillo

A native of San Antonio, TX, Sergio Trujillo graduated from Marquette University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in International Business, Finance and Spanish for the Professions. As a senior, he interned at Harley-Davidson Motor Company within the Investor Relations and Latin America/Asia-Pacific departments.
After graduation, Sergio spent two years at a Chicago-based boutique investor relations services firm. However, seeking the opportunity to join a larger organization to build his career, Sergio turned to HACE for career development and access to potential employers. Within three months of initiating contact with HACE, Sergio attended the Walgreen’s Latino Recruitment Series and 2005 HACE Career Conference.
Sergio’s attendance at the 2005 HACE Career Conference paid off! Just a few months later, Sergio accepted a position at Abbott Laboratories in January 2006 as a Financial Analyst within the Abbott Diagnostics Latin America/Canada team. After spending two years in that role, Sergio joined the Pharmaceutical Products Division at Abbott, where he worked in Marketing Analytics & Business Insights, serving the Integrated Managed HealthCare organization.
At Abbott, Sergio served as the Chair of the Membership & Communication leader within LA VOICE, Abbott’s Hispanic/Latino Employee Network. Outside of Abbott, Sergio volunteered with the Marquette Club of Chicago, Chicago Latino Film Festival, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School ¡VIVA! Planning Committee, HACE and NSHMBA.
Sergio has attended various minority leadership development programs and sat on panels offered by Abbott and HACE. In addition, as a result of obtaining a job at Abbott through the 2005 HACE Career Conference, Sergio was featured in the New York Daily News and New York Times regarding networking best practices.
Sergio is currently pursuing an MBA in Brand and Product Management at the Wisconsin School of Business as a Consortium for Graduate Study in Management fellow. Sergio will graduate from the Wisconsin School of Business in May 2011 and will subsequently join General Mills as an Associate Marketing Manager.
