The Finance Department provides broad based financial analysis and support for the Allstate Financial business unit. The purpose of this department is to lead the development of business strategy, translate the business strategy into goals that guide integrated operational plans and analyze trends to strengthen understanding of financial results.
Position description:
This position is within the Distribution Support team in Allstate Financial Finance. The employee will perform activities related to the development, maintenance, and analysis of sales and expense data used by Management. The individual will diagnose issues and analyze trends to explain and strengthen understanding of financial results. This position is a key player in monthly analysis and forecasting, as well as the annual operating plan. The individual will interact with numerous clients and contacts throughout Allstate to develop robust expense planning, tracking and forecasting capabilities.
Specific responsibilities:
- Reporting on and analyzing sales and expense results to identify emerging issues, trends and opportunities.
- Evaluating plans and projections against targets. Communicating findings to sales leadership and providing written analysis of key variables and trends
- Providing requested financial data to internal and external customers and identifying relevant analysis and research
- Participating in analytical effort to model new sales incentive and bonus programs
- Leveraging technology to improve recurring processes and recommend changes or enhancements

Qualifications:
This position requires an undergraduate degree/MBA in Business, Finance, Math, (or related field) or relevant experience as well as intermediate to advanced PC skills in spreadsheets, word processing, and presentations. The position requires good oral and written communication skills, the ability to work with numbers and formulas, and good organizational and time management skills. The output of this job is data, reports, analysis, and research as well as data and financial modeling, numerical exhibits, and written communication.

Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office software - Strong PC skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word
Ability to create and utilize Excel based models
Education: College degree required with Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred, along with 1-3 years of related work experience. MBA desirable, but not required.
