The Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) is a 29 year-old Chicago-based national nonprofit organization. HACE’s mission is to inspire and guide Latinos in achieving their educational and professional aspirations and positively contributing to our communities. The purpose of the HACE Collegiate Chapters is to provide students with leadership opportunities, expand their networks, and connect them to internship/entry-level job opportunities.

HACE seeks applicants for the position of Coordinator of University Leadership Program – College Chapters. The Coordinator will provide leadership and oversight of the college chapters. S/he will be responsible for planning, organizing, supervising chapter officers, and evaluating student development program and services in the following components: College Student Leadership, Networking, Job Shadowing, Internship, and Entry-Level Career Opportunities



HACE Responsibilities:



  1. Responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and evaluating student chapter officers, their on-campus programs, events, and related planning efforts

  2. Manage student organizations and provide assistance with their budgets.

  3. Assist Director in the ongoing development and management of relationships with university personnel and students/student organizations at colleges in order to create an active college network and connect college students to mentors, internships, and career opportunities

  4. Create surveys and focus groups to determine how we can further improve chapters

  5. Review previous recommendations and apply as adequate to current program

  6. Attend student chapter meetings as needed

  7. Organize opportunities – online and in person – for students to meet and build relationship with professionals working in their fields of interest

  8. Assist in engaging HACE employer partners to identity internship and career opportunities for college students and help students apply to appropriate openings

  9. Supervise college chapter officers/volunteers to coordinate campus programs and online student engagement

  10. Assist in the development of metrics, measurements, and surveys to track the impact of HACE’s college career development efforts

  11. Help to grow the college program by assisting in reaching out to universities and colleges in Houston and New York

  12. Update/improve current student toolkit materials, documents and (look, feel, and overall consistent message)

  13. Regularly engage in appropriate HACE professional development programs and events

Job Requirements


Qualifications:


Outstanding interpersonal skills and an ability to work both independently and as a team-member


Superior written and communications skills


Experience working with students in higher education & student affairs departments


Experience developing and delivering online communications tools and strategies


Well developed organization skills with a solid orientation to detail


A self-starter with a strong desire to learn


Management and Education backgrounds preferred


Ability to read and write Spanish a plus



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Baccalaureate Degree

  • Current Graduate student preferred (Higher Education/Student Affairs)

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a non-profit/educational setting with expertise in at least 3 of the following areas: student support services, admissions, student registration, student records, graduation, institutional research or other related field.
