We produce six magazines that showcase executive leadership across industries. Our Cobranded Content Model highlights an executive’s story through the support of their partners, vendors, and consultants who help make their success possible. The process is collaborative: we tell an executive’s story using our expertise. It’s cobranded: we’ll position an executive’s key vendors as partners in their success. And it’s controlled—the executive’s message, delivered the way the executive wants.
We are looking for a highly organized and action-oriented Sales Manager to lead our Hispanic Executive magazine sales team. Hispanic Executive magazine is the voice for Latino business leaders working in the private sector. We are a key resource for these executives, promoting them through our media and connecting them at our signature events. Our work defines what it means to be a successful Latino leader working in America today.
This person will be responsible for coaching and training 7-12 inside sales representatives (called Content & Advertising Managers) and this person will drive $2M+ of new business through their team’s performance over the course of the year.  The Sales Manager will join a team of six other Sales Managers who together are responsible for 50+ sales representatives.  Given the collaborative nature of our culture and open office setting, a positive presence on the floor is a must as well as the ability to tether decisions to the vision, purpose, and values of the organization.
We believe in understanding the story behind numbers and metrics so the Sales Manager will know the ‘why’ behind metrics and their corresponding targets and will know how to communicate the ‘why’ to their staff to provide context and influence behavior.
We are looking for a Sales Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where the training and development of people pushes the entire team and organization to new levels. With a heavy emphasis on controlling what you can control, this person understands that acting quickly and decisively is more important than having the perfect solution.
- Uses Guerrero Howe's sales tools to identify areas of improvement and growth for each sales representative and provides extensive coaching.  This includes CRM audits, monitoring phone calls, one-one-one meetings, and team meetings
- Follows-up to ensure coaching and feedback are applied and to see improvement resulting in increased performance
- Consistently holds employees accountable to company values and performance metrics in a timely manner 
- Constantly messages company, department, and team initiatives to ensure transparency, comprehension, and buy-in
- Engages with talent to both retain and elevate employees depending on their skill sets and interests
- Onboards and trains new sales representatives
- Fosters strong internal relationships and works collaboratively to help achieve Guerrero Howe's strategic goals
- Actively participates in strategic planning and forecasting to proactively identify areas of concern and opportunity
- Provides constructive feedback to peers on the Sales Manager team.  We go further together than alone
- Conceptualizes and executes on tasks and projects tied to the evolution of the GH sales team and process
- Actively engages with others to continuously strive to improve processes, create efficiencies, and reduce costs
- Follows established work rules, policies, and procedures
- 1-3 years of sales experience and an additional 1-3 years of sales management experience
- Proven track record of leading successful sales teams
- Management experience that emphasizes coaching, training, leading, and holding employees accountable
