The Corporate Web Services team within Nielsen is currently seeking a highly motivated, talented and digital-savvy Development Manager with a background leading web site and web portal efforts to become part of the Corporate Web Services team.  Corporate Web Services resides within the Corporate IT Shared Services group, developing, maintaining and supporting a variety of Nielsen client facing applications, including the Answers Portal, Nielsen.com, Intranet, Extranet, and others.  The Nielsen Answers Portal is a critical platform for both our Watch & Buy clients.  98% of all Nielsen clients utilize the Answers Portal to access their products and deliveries.  The Portal is a key delivery mechanism for Nielsen and integrates with over 1000 Nielsen products.  Nielsen.com is a key revenue driver for Nielsen and is a vital part of the day to day business relationships with clients. 


Nielsen DotCom and Answers Portal are platforms that support on average more than 10 billion transactions daily.  This area of digital is experiencing rapid growth with many new products, partnerships and adoption driving the need to expand our global footprint, our platform’s capabilities and our team!

 Your day:

·Partner with team on design, documentation and coding of desired features 
·Serve as lead development representative when meeting with business representatives
·Participate in stand up calls with your assigned scrum team 
·Work with Scrum Master to ensure deliveries of sprints are on schedule
·Partner with QA resources on the team to deliver high quality code and features

Job Responsibilities

·Participate in detailed requirements, design, development and integration efforts 
·Responsible for producing architecture documentation, specifications, POCs where appropriate
·Technical interface with software vendors and internal clients as assigned 
·Identify infrastructure capacity risks and work with other areas of the team to ensure the proper capacity estimated and planned for the application / product or solution enhancements
·Be able to speak to team development efforts.
·Maintain and enforce common conventions, standards, and technologies 
·Conduct code reviews to make insure code being delivered is clean and efficient
·Translate business user stories into appropriate strategies and technical requirements
·Translate technical requirements into coded solutions on time
·Work as a team to deliver sprints to production

Qualifications and Skills

·Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
·10 years IT experience with 4 years’ experience in solutions development
·Experience in J2EE framework XML, Application Server like Jetty, JBoss, Weblogic  or similar
·Good understanding of HTTP protocol, HTML and JavaScript
·Experience in OpenText platform suite technologies
·Understanding of SOA, RESTful/SOAP web services and APIs
·Knowledge of cloud based architecture technologies
·Strong bootstrap 3 knowledge
·Google polymer experience is a plus
·Strong understanding of content management systems is preferred
·Experience with enterprise db
·Experience in SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies
·Must have good technical writing, communication and presentation skills 
·Requires superb interpersonal and communication skills
·Will interface with all levels of the organization regarding deliverables
